Opening Covington Manor was a culmination of our long time dream to run a bed and breakfast in what we believe is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Cambridge is a delightful, quaint and, above all, genuine small Midwestern town, situated among the gentle hills and lush forests of southern Wisconsin. For all the idyllic peace of a small town, there is plenty to do. We have swimming and boating at nearby Lake Ripley only 5 blocks away, exciting shopping, excellent biking on local trails and county roads, the Fireside Theater just 15 minutes away, and of course the many events and attractions the University of Wisconsin and the city of Madison have to offer only an easy 20 minutes to the west. You can relax as much as you want, but you will have to work hard to get bored!

Our house is a local historic landmark - the original owner, over a century ago, was one of the original members of the community. The house is surrounded on three sides by an extensive garden, which we have been tirelessly restoring to its full glory, and several large trees which provide welcome shade throughout the summer. The front is adorned with a grand, welcoming porch, the kind where you can while away a leisurely morning, escape from the sun for a lengthy midday siesta, or enjoy the cooling evening breeze.

Inside you will find all the peace, quiet, and luxury you have ever wanted in a bed and breakfast. A warm and dignified foyer stands in the middle of the house, and off to the side are a plush and comfortable parlor, and an elegant dining room where very special gourmet breakfasts are served. The guest parlor is a perfect place for a chat with friends, a game of chess, or just some quiet time with a book. All our guest rooms are located upstairs, and afford pleasant views onto the beautiful gardens and historic neighborhood.
